Beginner Guide to Niseko

How to get to niseko
Beforre youarrival at New Chitose Airport, please remember to pre book your transfer. I remember landing there during our trip without any prior arrange and having to be stuck there for 3 hours as every bus was full and taxis were extremely pricey.
The journey takes 2.5hours from the airport to Niseko but it was once of the most beautiful rides i every experience.
Hokkaido Resort Liner – has drop off points at all three major parts. Hirafu, Annupuri and Niseko Village. From there you can grab the shutter bus or get your accommodation to provide free pick-up service. If all else fail, you can always take a taxi which is what i did to ease the trouble. Another option is Niseko Airport Shuttle. They have more daily service and have pickup/drop-off at Hirafu Welcome Centre, Niseko Village (Higashiyama), Moiwa, and Kutchan train station.

Both companies requires you to make booking at least 5-9 days prior to your travel date. Last minute booking is possible via the airport and hotel but i have to emphasise that you should book your transport prior as buses are quickly filled especially during peak season.

Price: ¥4000(adult) / ¥3000(child 3~11yrs old)

Hirafu, Niseko Village, Annupuri -What is the difference
Annupuri is the place to stay if you like things slow and quiet. Being the quieter town of the three, the slopes are less crowded as well. Being said, Annupuri is great for the more experienced skier with some of the longer runs.
Niseko Village is meant for the family. I stayed there during my trip and basically it is just 2 hotels in that area. The Niseko Hilton and Green Leaf Niseko Village. There isn’t much runs here but it is great for the quick weekend getaway and people whom wants to have easy access to the slopes. With the skin lift just ousted the door and onset at the hotel ground level. You are in your own world here.
Hirafu is perfect for couple and friends who are here for a ski trip. We visited Hirafu daily during our trip via the shutter service from Niseko Hilton. The town has many accommodation options from backpackers to high-end hotel and multiple bars, shops and restaurants. Many airbnb lodge with fireplace is available here and it is a great way to unwind after a long day at the slope.
Best time to visit
Mid December through March is typically the snowiest season, with the best snow in late December, January and February.
